There is one paved road from north to south on Long Island. The few other roads look like this. We had to go to Customs at the airport and fork over $300 since we came on land. If we would have passed through, we would have not had to pay.
There is a front coming and with it brings sand flies but they are actually sand fleas and are very small crustaceans. They bite like no see ums and are about the same size, but you can see these little black devils. I don't think I have one spot on me they didn't get. They itch like mosquito bites.
Here I am trying to capture the turquoise colored clouds. The water is so blue and turquoise, it reflects the colors on the clouds. Can't quite see it darnit, but it is something I have never seen or heard of!
Not sure if these are someone's goats or if they run wild here.
Storm front moving in. Yesterday it rained off and on and today we got hit pretty hard with rain and lightning. A little nerve racking when your the only boat around in the water with a 60 foot mast in the air. The thunder was really loud too. Our parts should be here on Tuesday, Wednesday we will haul her out and fix the sail drive gasket that was causing a leak in the sail drive. Maintenance stuff. The cruisers have a saying: Cruising Is... fixing your boat in exotic places!
