History

Larry and Tina's travel adventures on a 42' Catamaran.

Who Were These Pirates Before They became Caribbean Pirates?

They were the previous owners of Zeppe's Italian Water Ice In North Ogden, Utah. They built this little ice cream shop (that's not really an ice cream shop) from an old house in an urban area in 2008. Zeppe's has been open since 2009-present but These Pirates owned it from 2009-2013

North Coast of the DR

Larry and I took a road trip along the north coast with another couple we met here in Luperon.  4 nights and 5 days of beautiful scenery, good company and great food - finally!

Tall "Mountainous" roads through the green palm trees.  Definetely could visualize dinosaurs running through here.  From Luperon we headed East to Puerto Plata, then on through a town called Sosua.  Sosua was once a haven for Jewish refugees, so you can find many Germans and also the French here. The beaches are amazing .  Pics below are one of the beaches - Playa Cozon.

Friends we met from Detroit.  Elisa climbing the only palm tree she will probably ever have a chance to climb.

Next town - Cabarete.  This town is known for professional kite surfing as well as surfing.  The food was Excellente!  Those Europeans sure know how to cook.

The first night we stayed in Cabarete, which was about half way to our final destination.  The next morning we headed further down the coast to Las Terranas which is a province of Samana (basically the last area along the north coast into the east coast of Samana Bay)  Samana is where the humpback whales migrate through to the Silver Banks off of Turks and Caicos to mate during January - April.  We stayed and enjoyed being pampered here for 2 nights, then headed back to Pooperon.

On the way back home, we saw a cool cave.  I think these were the best pics.
